Since its launch, everyone has been talking about ChatGPT. It’s more. Many use it for different purposes. Some put it to the test. Others are already beginning to use it as a search engine or recommender. And even those who already use it to generate content instead of creating it themselves. But this artificial intelligence-based tool is not the only one. There are many alternatives to ChatGPT that you can try right away.
ChatGPT is based on GPT, an artificial intelligence that extracts online content to generate answers to questions from a query. And he does it with the most human language possible. It is also useful for other things, such as programming code, summarizing texts, etc. And anyone can use it hence why it has become so popular. Even Microsoft decided to integrate it into its Bing search engine.
But as we said, ChatGPT is not the only way to use artificial intelligence to create content. Currently, dozens of projects have created their artificial intelligence or are based on GPT and the like to offer content generation services: from text to images, illustrations or videos.
Here are some alternatives to ChatGPT
OpenAI Playground
ChatGPT is not intelligence in itself. It is based on one GPT. Acronym for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. It is a tool in the form of a chat to which we can send questions and get answers. But initially, to interact with GPT, we used OpenAI Playground, an online app now paid for and gave more freedom to work with this artificial intelligence.
With OpenAI Playground, we can see the code generated by the tool and adapt it for a specific use, such as a spell checker, translator, summarize texts, etc. It is possible to choose which AI model we want to use among those available. Based on the different versions of GPT, each has its own “personality”.
Microsoft BingChat
Continuing with GPT and ChatGPT, an easier way to use this tool is by using its integrated version in Microsoft’s Bing search engine. One of the most practical alternatives to ChatGPT is based on ChatGPT itself and its AI. Although there is a prior process to request access, you only have to wait a few days to be able to ask Bing things through its intelligent chat.
Bing Chat works from any browser, although it prioritizes its use in the official mobile app (iPhone and Android) and its Microsoft Edge browser (Windows and macOS). ChatGPT with improvements, such as suggestions, links to the websites used to give the answers, and other conveniences to find the information you’re looking for.

Google bard
Bard is an AI-based chatbot similar to ChatGPT. It has yet to be available in Spain. At least as I write this article. The idea is to be open to the public as soon as possible. Google announced Bard in response to the success of OpenAI with ChatGPT. Thus beginning a race to see who creates the most intelligent AI.
Instead of GPT, Google Bard uses LAMDA, Google’s AI, in a smaller version with the necessary filters to give reliable and secure answers. In the middle of the square, it should be integrated into Google’s search engine and thus offer extensive and better-structured answers than those given by default by current search engines.
Jasper
Jasper is a practical example of what will happen with artificial intelligence applied to content generation. It is one of the many paid alternatives to ChatGPT focused on online marketing and content creation. Jasper aims to generate user-demanded content with the desired tone and style. And thus fill blogs and social networks with content generated by AI.
To make this possible, it has templates, translation and other elements that facilitate content requests. It also includes grammar correction, plagiarism search and, of course, the necessary SEO optimizations. And it already has clients like Sports Illustrated. For the rest, it uses its own AI model with its API, although it doesn’t give much information about it.
Brave AI
The Brave company is known for its browser and associated products, such as its Brave Search engine. This search engine recently integrated its artificial intelligence, Brave AI. For now, an alternative to ChatGPT focused on giving structured and summarized answers to long questions.
The function is called Summarizer, similar to what Bing Chat or ChatGPT does when we ask something. It gives us an answer in one or two paragraphs of information and indicates the links we can consult to expand our knowledge on that raised topic. It also highlights the most relevant information from the link summaries shown in the search results.
Chat sonic
Based on GPT 3.5 and GPT 4, ChatSonic is a paid service to generate content through a chat. But livened up with templates, a text editor, WordPress and Zapier integration, and support for multiple languages. It is another paid alternative to ChatGPT that adds additional features and improves the ChatGPT interface for professional use.
Being paid, you can try it for free temporarily. But the highlight of ChatSonic is that it comes integrated into the Opera browser. This means that you will be able to chat with ChatSonic or with the original version of ChatGPT. And you will be able to summarize articles you read in Opera, ask questions about something you do not understand in that article, etc.
Claude
Behind Claude is the company Anthropic. This artificial intelligence-based assistant is used to perform tasks through chat conversations. Unlike other proposals, such as ChatGPT, it defines itself as a helpful, honest and harmless AI system.
You can summarize texts, search, generate content, create code, etc. And behind this project are companies as well known as Quora, Notion and DuckDuckGo. To test it, you have to request it from its creators. Although you can get ahead of it by installing it on Slack, the popular instant communication tool.
